David Cohen and Matt Gerson are pleased to announce that Tracy’s Kids will be recognizing Congressman Tom Marino with our 2015 Courage Award on February 11, 2015 at our tenth annual “…And the Winner Is…” Tom has battled kidney cancer for over a decade — including having a kidney removed in 2012. He also has a special appreciation for our mission because his daughter has spent a great deal of time in hospitals in connection with her Cystic Fibrosis. He is deeply committed to raising awareness of the path traveled by American families that confront serious pediatric illnesses.

**TK 15 E Invite Pg 2**

Above is the invitation to the charity’s unique, movie-themed event where 500 Washingtonians walk the red carpet before eating, drinking and then watching one of the six nominated and award-winning films that we will screen right in the heart of Hollywood’s award season. We are honored that our red carpet hosts are Senators Chuck Grassley, Orrin Hatch and Patrick Leahy.

Tracy’s Kids helps children cope with the emotional toll imposed by cancer and its treatment. The Courage Award is presented to a public person who exemplifies the strength, dignity and perseverance necessary to face its daily challenges. The past recipients are Arlen Specter, Marcelle Leahy, Barbara and Tim Johnson, John McCain, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Sue Myrick, Barbara Grassley, Dave Camp and Heidi Heitkamp.

If you require any additional information or have any questions please reach out to the event planner, Susan O’Neill, at 301-229-0124.

From A Dear Friend of TK

Tracy’s Kids’ mission is very personal to me.  As a parent, I stood by holding my own critically ill child and appreciated how Art Therapy filled in the gaps where the acute healthcare system stops.  Without Tracy’s Kids as part of the appointments, hospitalizations and the isolating post-transplant care, the children would be without a way to express their emotions.  It enables them not only survive but thrive as children.”

Jalene’s mom asked us to post these pictures of all the wonderful art she does with Tracy’s Kids at Methodist Children’s Hospital-San Antonio! What a prolific artist she is!
