Tracy’s Kids’ Ability to Reach Adolescents

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at our San Antonio site explains how critical our Art Therapist is to adolescents in treatment:

“Adolescents see the Art Therapist as an adult who is “safe.”  She is different from a parent, doctor, or nurse and over time becomes a trusted friend.  The discretion and professionalism Courtney provides along with the therapy enables the teen to better cope with the illness and side effects, as well as the fears, separation from their social network, and concern for how the cancer is impacting their loved ones.”

Our 11th Annual Red Carpet Extravaganza Makes the News

Our 11th Annual “And the Winner is…Tracy’s Kids!” was featured on Comcast Newsmakers! Take a minute to learn more about how we help the children and families we serve from the kids themselves, their families, and community leaders.

The fundraiser was a great success, thanks in large part to our Courage Award Winners – Tom Brokaw, Representative Diana DeGette, Representative Fred Upton.

As Tom Brokaw said, “What you do at Tracy’s Kids is give those families hope, and those children hope, and there is no greater obligation that we have to one another than to do just that.” Thank you so much to our donors and to everyone who attended for helping us to continue our mission!
