Our 11th Annual Red Carpet Extravaganza Makes the News

Our 11th Annual “And the Winner is…Tracy’s Kids!” was featured on Comcast Newsmakers! Take a minute to learn more about how we help the children and families we serve from the kids themselves, their families, and community leaders.

The fundraiser was a great success, thanks in large part to our Courage Award Winners – Tom Brokaw, Representative Diana DeGette, Representative Fred Upton.

As Tom Brokaw said, “What you do at Tracy’s Kids is give those families hope, and those children hope, and there is no greater obligation that we have to one another than to do just that.” Thank you so much to our donors and to everyone who attended for helping us to continue our mission!

The format for the event this February will remain unchanged from previous years – as we are proud to host one of Washington’s most unique and anticipated fundraisers with no dinner or lengthy speechifying – a reception and then the chance to watch one of the six nominated and award-winning films that we screen that night. The recipients of our Courage Award this year are Tom Brokaw, Rep. Diana DeGette, and Rep. Fred Upton!

If you would like to purchase tickets, have any questions, or are interested in learning more, please email tracyskids@oneillevent.com or contact Susan O’Neill & Associates at 301-229-0124.

We are looking forward to another great year and hope to see everyone on Wednesday, February 10, 2016!

Catalogue for Philanthropy Interviews Matt Gerson

We are so honored to have been selected for this year’s Catalogue for Philanthropy, which features some of the best community-based charities in the Greater Washington area. Last Thursday our chairman and founder Matthew Gerson was featured in their weekly blog, with an interview that describes the work and impact of Tracy’s Kids, and touches on his own inspirations. To learn more about the important work he and Tracy’s Kids are doing, click here to read the full interview. Thanks so much to Catalogue for Philanthropy!

Tracy’s Kids featured on ABC 7

On July 8th, Tracy’s Kids was featured on the ABC 7 segment “Harris’ Heroes,” which showcases local organizations and people making a difference in their community. In 2 minutes it perfectly describes what we do.  Take a look!

ABC’s Leon Harris wrote a brief article to accompany the video that features some of our kids, their parents, and our director Tracy Councill. A big thank you to ABC 7 and everyone who participated in this great segment!

Our 10th Annual Red Carpet Extravaganza Makes the News

Comcast Newsmakers dropped by our 10th Annual Red Carpet Extravaganza Fundraiser to do a profile on Tracy’s Kids. Watch the video to hear from some of our kids and parents, describing how art therapy has helped them through this difficult, frequently scary process.

Other attendees of the event who weighed in on the difference Tracy’s Kids is making include: Congressional Representatives Marsha Blackburn, Jerrold Nadler, and Tom Marino, Senator Rob Portman, Bengals player Devon Still, our founder and chairman Matthew Gerson, and our Program Director Tracy Councill.

The fundraiser was an enormous success, and has helped us continue our mission. Thank you so much to our donors and everyone who attended!
